GUARDIAN HOMES

The Basics of the Doodle Me This Guardian Program

First and foremost, our dogs are beloved members of our family. We believe that happy, well taken care of dogs, produce the very best well rounded puppies. For us to give our dogs and puppies the best possible home, it is important for us to limit how many dogs we keep in our home. However, to be a breeder of quality dogs, from time to time we pick a puppy to be evaluated for our guardian program to carry on strong bloodlines. We like to keep a few of our pick puppies to monitor their growth and development, and some of these puppies will eventually fit into our breeding program. We prefer to place these pick puppies in Guardian Homes.  A golden doodle needs to be a part of the family to develop to their full potential, and therefore, we have the guardian program.

The Guardian family will raise, love and keep the puppy as a member of their family.  This program allows local families an opportunity to own one of the best Goldendoodles available for $0.00. The family must be approved as Guardians and agree to abide by our contract of care. Click on the link at the bottom of this page to view the full contract.

How does it work for a female?

  • Once the female dog has passed the required health testing provided by Doodle Me This Goldendoodles, she will be placed with a Guardian Family. Health testing is usually completed by 4-5 months of age so you would be receiving an older puppy.

  • When the female is in heat she will come to Doodle Me This Goldendoodles to be bred as needed. She will return to Doodle Me This Goldendoodles to whelp and wean the puppies. Breeding females in our program are away from the Guardian Families on average about 8 weeks. The Guardian Family must be okay with parting from the dog during these breeding timeframes.

  • Females retire from our program around 5 years of age. A lawyer reviewed contract will be signed by both parties.

  • When we retire the female from our program, Doodle Me This Goldendoodles will pay to spay the dog and the Guardian Family will take over ownership.

How does it work for a male?

  • Once the male dog has passed the required health testing provided by Doodle Me This Goldendoodles, he will be placed with a Guardian Family. Health testing is usually completed by 4-5 months of age so you would be receiving an older puppy.

  • When a female is in heat, the male dog will come to Doodle Me This Goldendoodles to be bred as needed, and then be returned to the Guardian Home.

  • We ask for an agreement of up to 9 breeding years. A lawyer reviewed contract will be signed by both parties.

  • When we retire a male from our program, Doodle Me This Goldendoodles will pay to neuter the dog and the Guardian Family will take over ownership.
